The stress is based on greedy and anger and it can be seen, when dissatisfaction arose. The nature of the desire is unsatisfied as it can't be fulfilled.  For example, earning £1 will lead to £2, £3, £4, etc. And also, buying iPhone 3 will lead to 3s, 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6, 6s, etc... The desire is never ending as component things are never lasting.

Only satisfaction can deal with the stress. In order to gain satisfaction, there must be transformation as to greedy and anger.  For instance, transform greedy to sharing, caring and giving as well as transform anger to kindness, compassion and love. When the satisfaction arose, there is peace and the taste of real happiness.

8888 Uprising

The 8888 Nationwide Popular Pro-Democracy Protests, also known as the People Power Uprising was a series of marches, demonstrations, protests, and riots in Burma (Myanmar). 

Key events occurred on 8 August 1988, and therefore it is known as the 8888 Uprising.

Since 1962, the country had been ruled by the Burma Socialist Programme Party regime as a one-party state, headed by General Ne Win. 

The catastrophic Burmese Way to Socialism had turned Burma into one of the world's most impoverished countries. Many firms in the formal sector of the economy were nationalized and the government combined Soviet-style central planning, although the process was rather ineffective, with Buddhist and superstitious beliefs.

The 8888 uprising was started by students in Yangon (Rangoon) on 8 August 1988. Student protests spread throughout the country. Hundreds of thousands of ochre-robed monks, children, youngsters, university students, housewives, doctors and people from all walks of life demonstrated against the regime.

The uprising ended on 18 September, after a bloody military coup by the State Law and Order Restoration Council (SLORC). Thousands of deaths have been attributed to the military during this uprising, while authorities in Myanmar put the figure at around 350 people killed.

NMSP urges people to vote exclusively for Mon parties

IMNA – New Mon State Party (NMSP) urge Mon people to cast ballots for one of the two Mon political parties.

“From our Mon ethnic people, there are two Mon political parties. So, for Mon people, each of their individual ballots should not be given to other parties. Rather, the ballots should be cast to Mon parties. I am not saying to vote for this Mon party, or that Mon party, but to vote for one of the Mon parties that you like,” said Nai Aye Mon, member of NMSP’s central executive committee (CEC).

NMSP stands by the urgency to vote for Mon parties, and this was felt during a press conference on July 9, at NMSP liaison office in Three Pagodas Pass Town, on the Thai-Burma border, after the meeting between NMSP and its related organisations. At the meeting, the participants in attendance were Nai Hong Sar, the vice-chairman of the NMSP, Nai Aye Mon, in-charge of NMSP’s foreign affair department, the battalion commander and officials of NMSP’s armed wing Mon National Liberation Army (MNLA) No. (5), members of the NMSP based in TPP, and members of the Mon Youth Progressive Organization (MYPO) and staff members from [NMSP’s] education and health departments.

“For the NMSP, we would like these two parties to become one party. But they haven’t become united as one yet. Although in the past Mon monks and Mon people worked hard to have two parties become one, it did not succeed,” said Nai Aye Mon.

Last June, at the Mon Literature Talk held at Thanbyuzayat Town, Nai Hong Sar said, in response to questions from the audience [in the questions-and-answers session], that it’s necessary to vote for the representatives from two Mon political parties but with careful consideration based on his or her qualifications.

“Voters must consider the facts of each individual representative, of what he/she did in the past and is doing in the present, and what he/she has done for our people and what he/she has sacrificed for the people,” said Nai Hong Sar.

Mon National Party(MNP) and All Mon Regions Democracy Party (AMDP) will contest not just in Mon State but in certain constituencies in Karen State and Tenasserim Division.

MNP competed in the 1990 elections under the party name, Mon National Democratic Front (MNDF), and MNP was then changed to Mon Democracy Party (MDP) in 2012, and then finally changed to MNP in 2014.

MNP did not compete in the 2010 elections. The AMDP, however, was founded by various Mon ethnic leaders and competed,

The Union Election Commission already made the announcement for the election date, November 8, 2015.

Lasting Peace Urgently Needed, Says NMSP

In a statement released at the 67th Anniversary of Mon Revolution Day on Sunday [August 10th], the New Mon State Party (NMSP) announced that lasting peace is urgently needed after civil war is ceased.

The statement, written in both Mon and Burmese, highlighted that for the NMSP to establish a federal union, which grants national equality, democracy, and autonomy, it must be based on the principle of Panglong, with the spirit of the Panglong Agreement; a conference must be held with all parties and organizations that shall be involved in the union.

Further, the NMSP statement notes that although the military government has transformed to a civilian government, in fact, signs of military government still remain obvious , and although it is true that the ceasefire process takes some time, if ceasefire and peace talks take longer than expected, it can raise suspicions amongst ethnic armed groups, due to past lessons, and, as a result, will hurt the country.

In conclusion, the NMSP urged that during Burma’s transition to democracy, all ethnic peoples, along with the Mon people, NMSP, and its armed wing of the Mon National Liberation Army (MNLA), with self-awareness and duty, should cooperate in any respective sectors.

The 67th Anniversary of Mon Revolution Day was celebrated with an army parade at NMSP headquarters and its bases in Moulmein, Dawei, and Thaton Districts, as well as in Baledonphet Village, Three Pagoda Pass Township. During the ceremony, besides the [released] statement, the NMSP chairman read the list of NMSP’s fallen soldiers.

More than 1,000 Mon youths and Mon monks attended the 67th Anniversary of Mon Revolution Day celebrations at 1:00pm on August 10th, in front of the late Mon leaders’ brick tombs located at the entrance of the Win-sein Tawya Monastery in Mudon Township.

According to attendees, biographies of late Mon leaders were read, including those of Mon Poe Cho, Nai Aung Htun, Nai Shwe Kyin, Nai Nonlar, Nai Poe Sein, Nai Thein Maung, Nai Htin, Nai Tala Mon, and Nai Rotsa.

The Mon National Party (MNP) sent a letter to the NMSP on Mon Revolution Day, remembering and honoring the fact that the Mon People Front led and seized arms at the police station of Zarthapyin Village, Hpa’an Township, on the full-moon day of Wakhaung, in the year 1310 of the Mon/Burmese calendar. This day, recognized as Mon Revolution Day, of which the 67th anniversary falls on August 10th, is what Mon people should remember and carry out, not only in the country, but anywhere that Mon people resettle.

We are writing to appeal you to join demonstration outside Burmese Embassy in London on Monday.

You may already aware of the recent brutal assault to the respectable monks including Venerable U Uttara and U Pyin Nya in Yangon.

 All arrested monks were forcibly disrobed and sent to notorious Insein Prison. This is tragic news for everyone in the Burmese community in UK.

Please join and stand up for the monks who were illegally arrested by Burmese authorities in Yangon, Burma/Myanmar.
