Method of Order

By: Benjamin Franklin

TEMPERANCE

Be temperate in both food and drink.

SELF-CONTROL
Control yourself in your actions to others. Do not carry hate.

SILENCE
Avoid useless talk.

ORDER
Let all things have their place, all matters of business their proper time.

FIRMNESS OF MIND
Promise yourself to do what is right - and then do without fail what you promise.

SAVINGS
Spend only to do good for others or yourself. Waste nothing.

INDUSTRY
Be always busy at something useful. Waste no time.

HONESTY
Tell no harmful lies. Think right - and speak the same way.

JUSTICE
Do no one harm by bad acts or by not acting honestly.

CLEANLINESS
Keep your body, your clothes, and your house clean.

CALMNESS
Do not despair over small things which are unpleasant but cannot be helped.

MORALITY
Conduct yourself according to moral rules.

HUMBLENESS
Live in the manner of Jesus and Socrates.
